HOW IT WORKS:

If you are interested in finding out more please contact us on info@mss-detecting.org and, if appropriate, we will arrange a brief site visit at a time of your convenience. The purpose of this is:-

 Allow you to ask any further questions

 Advise us of land availability/boundaries/crop and stock stipulations

 Note Parking/Farm and Field Access

 If Agreed, set times/dates for a future visit. Usually on a Sunday, approx. 9-5pm.

ON THE DAY:

 We have an on-site briefing at 9am and marshals are present throughout the day to ensure adherence to all conditions. Additional COVID 19 Rules in place as necessary.

 All members adhere to a strict Code of Conduct (See Code of Conduct link below) agreed with the hobby’s regulatory bodies, endorsed by the NFU. Typically around 20 members attend each visit.

 Discreet temporary signage will be put up by us an hour before arrival time.

 Payment is made in cash on the day, irrespective of finds/weather.

testimonials

Our hobby has to be based on trusted relationships with the Landowners and Farmers who grant us permission to detect on their land. Everything we do as a club is based on this fundamental tenet:

  • how we liaise with the farming community
  • how we manage our membership,
  • how we conduct the detecting days
  • how we liaise with the authorities and governing bodies

We have many testimonials from local farmers and other organisations/charities that have benefitted from our responsible detecting activity. Here is just one from a large scale Berkshire farmer, that we have visited for a number of years.

“Following a professional approach we decided to allow the Maidenhead Club to detect on our Farms. They fully respect all our stipulations and have reported a wide variety of fascinating finds, including five gold Treasure items. On the basis of this experience I am happy to give them a positive reference .”
