MSS and RABI are pleased to announce a partnership aimed at raising funds to support RABI's role in supporting the UK's farming communities. Focusing on Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Surrey, the aim is to run charity metal detecting digs on land "donated" by farmers and landowners in these areas for metal detecting days to be run for MSS members. The fees charged to our members will be remitted to RABI as charity donations. We are targeting up to £500 donation for a day's detecting, with a maximum of around 20-30 members attending.
If you would like to discuss this with us, please contact Paul, Jim or Nick on info@mss-detecting.org

If you want to get involved in this initiative, an exploratory conversation with one of the people listed above, can explain how this would work. Any detecting is only on agreed days and specific land. The event is fully marshalled by MSS
Detecting can take place on any land where a coil can be swung- set aside pasture, ploughed, stubble etc. Some of our landowner/farmers are happy for us to detect on seeded land and on early stage crops - the choice is yours. Our team would visit briefly with you in advance to check out the land suitability, parking, access etc.
All MSS members hold full NCMD Civil Liability Insurance, all details can be found at www.ncmd.co.uk MSS maintains strict membership policy, so all detectorists on these digs have been vetted by MSS. We can vouch for them!
Usually, a dig is on a minimum of 30 acres so that we can visit other fields on other days. In addition, we often visit farms multiple times per year and ober multiple years creating more funds for RABI or a share of funds with the farmer or landowner. The choice is yours
